Frequently asked questions.

Where are you located and who do you see?

I am located in Dallas, Texas. However, since I conduct virtual therapy, I can see any individual across the state of Texas!

Do you take insurance?

At this time, I am not directly working with or accepting insurance. However, a special receipt called a “superbill” can be provided if you wish to claim out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance company. Reimbursement varies across insurance plans, so you should call your insurance company to confirm.

Here are some helpful questions you can ask when you contact your insurance company:

  • Do I have mental health or behavioral health out-of-network benefits for outpatient settings?

  • What is my deductible? Has it been met?

  • How many mental health sessions does my plan cover annually?

  • How do I obtain reimbursement for an out-of-network mental health provider?

  • What will the coverage amount be per session? How much can I expect to be reimbursed?

  • How long does it usually take to receive reimbursement once I’ve submitted my claim?

  • Is a referral required by my primary care physician?

  • Does my insurance plan cover sessions provided via telehealth?

How much does an individual session cost?

My current session rate is $150/session. Sliding scale options may be provided based on availability and need.

How long/often is a typical session?

A typical individual session is a “therapeutic hour” or 50 minutes. Typically you would engage in counseling once a week. If you feel you are in need of more frequent sessions, please ask so we can discuss possibilities.

Can I have session anywhere since it’s online?

Yes and no. You can have session anywhere in Texas, but it must be a safe and private space. This means you cannot have session while you’re driving, in the same room as others, or in public. Despite virtual counseling providing us the ease of being able to see each other anywhere, we still want to try to maintain your confidentiality as best as we can.

What happens if I see you IRL (in real life)?

In order to keep your confidentiality, I will pretend not to know you unless you choose to approach me. This means, if you see me walk by, I promise I’m not ignoring you. I’m just trying to protect your right to privacy. However, if you want to say hi, I’m more than happy to say hi back!
